James Obst Leads the Final Nine in Event #26: $10,000 Razz Championship
Another day is in the books for Event #26: $10,000 Razz Championship. It was Frank Kassela who started the day as the chip leader of the final 38 players. But Kassela and many others fell short of the money today. At the end of the night only nine were left standing and it was James Obst who led the way, bagging up 818,000 chips as players head into the final day of play.
Falling before the money were the likes of Chirs Geoge, Mike Leah, Scott Clements, Erik Seidel, and Brock Parker to name a few. Brian Rast also fell short of the money. He came into the day with one of the shortest stacks and didnt even make it in time to see his final hand, and was anted away. It was Randy Ohel who was the stone bubble boy. On his final hand, Eric Kurtzman made a six-low and left Ohel drawing dead, bringing the final 15 players into the money with no hand-for-hand play.
Making the money but not going much further were Roland Israelashvili in 15th ($15,000), Ted Forrest in 14th ($16,437), Don Zewin in 13th ($15,437), Konstantin Maslak in 12th (18,668), Steven Chidwick in 11th ($18,668), and Owais Ahmed in 10th ($21,946). Ahmed almost made it through the day, but finally succumbed on the last hand of the night to Anthony Zinno.
The final nine players will return tomorrow at 2 p.m. PDT. PokerNews will be here with all the action so make sure to tune back in.
