Yang Applies Pressure to Take Down Pot
Jerry Yang, the 2007 WSOP Main Event champion, showed his tablemates at the Horseshoe that he will make squeeze plays.
Action folded to a player in the hijack position, and he raised 3,300 before the flop, drawing a call from the player in the cutoff. The button folded, bringing action to Yang, who was in the small blind.
Yang peeked down at his cards, slowly placed a 5,000 chip on his cards, and then three-bet to 10,000. The big blind quickly got out of the way, and the other two players called.
The flop saw 7?A?4? on the board. Yang briefly paused before betting 30,000, resulting in both opponents folding their hands to Yangs aggressive pot-sized continuation bet out of position.
Yang then tabled 9?5? as the dealer pushed the 33,200 pot to his seat at table 601, which coincidentally is almost directly underneath his photo hanging on the way commemorating his 2007 Main Event win.
