Day 1a of Event #3: Big 50 - $500 No-Limit Holdem is a wrap. The first flight drew a massive field of 6,095 entries, putting this tournament on track to be the largest in WSOP history. The survivors of this flight will be returning for Day 2a on Friday, May 31st at 5 p.m. local time to continue to battle towards a guaranteed $1 million top prize.
Cosimo Bisogno leads the Day 1a pack with an impressive stack of 932,000. Bisogno was responsible for the elimination of multiple players throughout the day and he will be looking to lock a big score in his first WSOP cash ever. Other big stacks include, Seung Mook Jung (541,000), Maurice Hawkins (519,000), Xiao Yu (476,000), and Amin Mostafavi (464,000).
Some of the bracelet winners who found a bag at the end of the night included John Reading (247,000), Loni Harwood (131,000), Chris Wallace (95,000) and Dietrich Fast (85,000). Well-known players Ismael Bojang (261,000), Martin Zamani (197,000) and Brian Altman (166,000) also progressed to Day 2 dreaming of a WSOP bracelet.

Many notables fell short today, and were eliminated before the day was done including Shaun Deeb,Mike Del Vecchio, Greg Raymer, Muskan Sethi, and Andrea Buonocore. They will, however, have the opportunity to take a shot at any of the three remaining flights thanks to the re-entry element to this new event on the WSOP schedule.
A whole new half of the Day 1 field will take their seats from 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31st, and they won't be the only ones playing the Big 50, with Day 2a play also beginning just a few hours later tomorrow at 5 p.m. local time, a change from the original scheduled time of 2.00 pm.
