We found "The Captain" Tom Franklin with a fresh stack entering the Day 1a flight in either the 7th or 8th level. His choice seems a bit odd because he could have easily joined the 1b flight and not started at a chip disadvantage.
Whatever his reasoning is, it's based off of years of experience.
