Controversy Between Hershler and Stout
Hershler claimed that he wasn't raising but calling and that it was obvious he was only making the call. The floor was called and it took not one, not two, not three, but four floor members to come over to the table and get the argument under control. Hershler called Stout an angle shooter and said, "I can't believe I'm getting cheated like this! What an angle shot!"
Stout got extremely upset and angry that he was being called an angle shooter and cheater and shot back at Hershler before the floor quieted him. Hershler stood from his chair and pleaded with multiple floor members, all of whom ruled that it was a raise. He never said call or raise, all he did say was "Ten-fifty," and tossed out the aforementioned chips. The board ran out and Stout doubled up to around 30,000 chips. Hershler was left with under 20,000 chips and steaming about what just happened. Fortunately, the table broke after the next hand and all the players were spread out amongst the remaining tables so no further arguing could ensue.
