A Large Day 1b Field is Expected at the MSPT Venetian $1,100 Main Event
The hustle and bustle is real in Las Vegas for the Labor Day weekend but the real action will be on the felt today for Day 1b of the MSPT Venetian $1,100 Main Event. A very attractive $500,000 guaranteed prizepool ha been put forth and a large field will be required today to reach that guarantee.
There were a total of 130 entries for Day 1a yesterday with just 15 players advancing to Day 2. It was Rambo Halpern that bagged the largest stack, 453,000 to be exact. Some other notables making it through the day unscathed include Dan Bekavac, Jeff Platt, Christina Gollins, and Joshua Reichard.
Many more notables are expected to make an appearance today since roughly 400 entries are the goal for the tournament staff. The action is slated to get underway at 11:10 a.m. local time and late registration will remain open until the start of level 10 which is approximately 5:55 p.m. An unlimited number of re-entries will be permitted but players may only bag one stack of chips for Day 2.
An $1,100 buy-in will give each player a starting stack of 25,000 chips with the blinds starting at 100/100 and a 100 big blind ante. The levels will be 40 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every three levels. They will play down to just 11% of the field and Day 1a wrapped up with 29 minutes remaining in level 15. Those that make it through to Day 2 will be considered in the money.
