Third and Final Day 1
Welcome to the Mid-States Poker Tour main event at FireKeepers casino in Battle Creek, MI. This is the last of three day ones and the popular tour stop will add considerably to the 302 entries from the first two day ones.
The second stop of the year at FireKeepers, Jason Zarlenga emerged victorious in May, besting over 400 entries to take home over $100,000. Zarlenga is the all-time money winner on tour and currently sits in third place in the race for Player Of the Year. Zarlenga punched his ticket to Day 2 with his play on Day 1a, as did Adam Friedman.
The $1,100 buy-in tournament is already well past its $200,000 guarantee and allows for one re-entry before the end of level nine. Cards are scheduled to be in the air at noon local time. The plan is to play 14 40-minute levels for Day 1c. On Sunday, all surviving players will combine under one roof to play down to a winner.
PokerNews will be on site to provide live coverage. Stay tuned as we see who can wade their way through the large field and on to Day 2.
