The Final Day Approaches
At 12:30 local time (in about 100 minutes), the unofficial final table of the 50,000 Super High Roller gets underway. The biggest buy-in tournament of the inaugural PokerStars Championship Barcelona kicks off with just 9 players remaining, all guaranteed 117,700 at this point after Isaac Haxton (11th, 103,200) and Dan Colman (10th, 103,200) both departed late last night.
The last table of the tournament, which attracted a field of 86 entries, consists of mostly Super High Roller regulars. Koray Aldemir leads with a massive 4,540,000 stack. PokerStars Team Pro Igor Kurganov follows with 4,170,000. Daniel Negreanu, arguably the most famous poker player in the world these days, brings 1,170,000 in chips. Blinds kick off at 30,000/60,000 with a 10,000-ante.
Updates will be available via the PokerStars Blog, while we at PokerNews bring you Main Event updates all day long.
