One Day, $25K, PCA 2018; Chips Fly at Noon
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2018 rolls on this afternoon with the $25,000 Single-Day High Roller, the 18th event of the annual festival at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
This is the third High Roller of the festival after Cary Katz won the $100,000 Super High Roller and Steve ODwyer captured the $50,000 High Roller. Once again, the wealthiest players unfortunate enough to no longer be in the running of the Main Event will converge for a one-day battle on the felt.
At the 2017 PokerStars Championship Bahamas Bryn Kenney captured yet another title after topping a field of 42 runners that included 17 re-entries. Just seven players made the money including Sean Winter, Mike Watson, Bill Perkins, Oleksii Khoroshenin, and Anton Astapau. Kenney would end up defeating Dario Sammartino heads-up to claim the $392,876 top prize.
Kenney is no longer in the Main Event so chances are he will make an appearance during the day. PokerStars pros Daniel Negreanu and Jeff Gross are also free and the two previous High Roller champs, Katz and ODwyer, can attempt to go for a second title this festival.
Once the action kicks off at noon local time, play will continue until a champion is crowned. Players start with 100,000 in chips and Levels will last 30 minutes. There is also a 30-second shot clock governing the event though players are given timebank chips for those uncomfortable spots. One re-entry is permitted per player.
