Barer Counterfeits Hansen; Hansen Then Rivers Afriat
In a limped pot between the blinds, Sindre Hansen led out for 100,000 on a flop of K?J?A? and Ami Barer called.
The turn was the 2? and Hansen bet 325,000. Barer again called and the K? fell on the river. Both players then checked and Hansen showed A?2?.
"Hey," Barer cried out as he turned over A?4?, discovering that Hansen's two pair had been counterfeited on the river and they chopped the pot.
The next hand, Hansen raised to 225,000 on the button and Eric Afriat called in the big blind.
The flop came A?5?7? and Hansen continued for 150,000. Afriat called and the 3? turn was checked.
Afriat led out for 130,000 on the J? river and Hansen called. Afriat showed Q?7? for a pair of sevens, but Hansen had J?9? for a rivered pair of jacks to win the pot.
"Ugly. Why would you do that?" Afriat said.
