Floor Called to Rule on Tepper No Check
Three players had reached the river of a board reading . Jean Tepper was in the small blind, Toby Lewis in the big blind and Artem Litvinov in late position. Lewis checked and Litvinov checked saying “Keep it nice and friendly.” Tepper replied “I can’t check.” And bet 3,000. Lewis protested that he can’t bet as the other two payers in the hand had checked and he could be angle shooting. Tepper insisted he hadn’t checked and indeed no one would say that he had including the dealer. The floor was called and even though the floor agreed that he hadn’t checked it was ruled that because there was two lots of action behind he couldn’t bet. Tepper argued for a bit but in the end he took back the bet with good grace. Litvinov had but Lewis was ahead with . Tepper mucked his hand. Litvinov insisted he had saved himself 3,000 either way because Lewis would have had to fold and he would have snapped him of with his hand.
