Andreas Doletzki hit but not hard enough with his , leading for 75,000 on a flop and then calling when Maximilian Heinzelmann set him in for the 150,000 or so he had remaining. He saw Heinzelmann with , missed his draws on the turn and river and stood up to go with a smile and a handshake for George Danzer.*
*Apparently everyone busting shakes Danzer's hand. Jan Heitmann told me that he's instantly everyone's friend on the table, so damn likeable that they feel bad when they win his chips.
Dirk Jaspert was eliminated just on the break by Zoran Nitio, a case of holding against after the board came .
The players have dropped very fast here today, much quicker than most of us have been anticipating.
Kent Lundmark is down to just 85,000, well into the danger zone, after doubling up Hugo Lemaire.

Board:
Lemaire didn't react at all as the ace dropped on the flop to double him to 450,000. We were standing behind Lundmark so we couldn't see his expression, but we can report that he visibly crumpled.
Maik de Rijk was down to just one big blind after running pocket jacks into Timo Pftzenreuter's set, and a few moments later that one blind disappeared into Kent Lundmark's stack.
De Rijk: offsuit

Anton Morgenstern has jumped up over 1,300,000 after a huge preflop confrontation went his way. His stack dominates the others' at his table, and when he four-bet shoved the button it was with the knowledge that the initial raiser and re-raiser Felix Schulze would be calling for their tournament life. Schulze took several minutes to think about the 50,500 he'd bet already and his 330,000 stack. He called.
Schulze:
Morgenstern:
This huge race could change either one of their tournaments, and it came down on the side of Morgenstern (the board ). Schulze headed to the rail.
Mathias Kuerschner got it in well ahead with against Robert Schulz' and it was an easy double up for him on the board. He's still pretty short though on 120,000, and Schulz is now faring almost as badly on 150,000.
All in for just 58,000 preflop Dara O'Kearney held the small but live . Thorsten Sch?fer held which was resoundingly beaten by a board. O'Kearney has won Grinder of the Tournament with this, the final straw after nursing a perilously short stack for an incredible amount of time.
Another flurry of action as all the chips went in preflop between Rainer Emde's and Jonas Gutteck's in a Germany vs Germany battle.
The flop came and Gutteck improved to a pair, now just needing a king or running cards to overcome Emde's aces. The turn brought the possibility of a chop but the river was the to some serious groans.
"My first ever massive suckout at an EPT!" said an overjoyed Gutteck. He's up to 300,000 while Emde drops to just 60,000.
Michal Kusak has been knocked out by Joep van den Bijgaart, the Dutch Team PokerStars pro holding to Kusak's with the board coming . Van den Bijgaart is up to 370,000.
