Nelson Crushed as Speidel Doubles Through
Just as we write up a nice feature post about Lee Nelson and his quest for a third Aussie Millions Main Event final table and second title, Oliver Speidel doubles through him to cripple Nelson down to under a quarter of a million in chips.
Speidel opened from under the gun to 55,000 and Mile Krstanoski three-bet to 125,000 from the button. In the big blind was the man nicknamed "Final Table" and Mr. Nelson cold four-bet to 305,000. Speidel took a few moments and then announced that he was all in, a total bet worth 1.028 million in chips. Krstanoski folded, then Nelson went into the tank.
"I call," he eventually said and the cards were tabled.
Nelson showed the , but was behind the for the at-risk Speidel. Nelson had him covered, but only by a small margin.
The flop, turn and river ran out and Speidel successfully held to double through. He's now over 2.2 million while Nelson dropped under 250,000.
