Andres Gonzalez is a Spanish poker player who reached the final table of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in Las Vegas. He ultimately finished sixth for $2 million.
Gonzalez has recorded live poker tournament results dating back to October 2012, but had to wait until July 2019 for his first five-figure payout. He collected $10,387 for a 19th-place finish in the $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em event at the 2019 WSOP.
Gonzalez headed to Las Vegas in June 2024 and it was one of the best decisions he had ever made. He finished third in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout for a career-best $201,518 before a third-place finish in a $3,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament at The Wynn Summer Classic netted him $500,602.
The Spaniard navigated his way to the final table of the 2024 WSOP Main Event with 18,300,000 chips, making him the shortest stack.
"I think I will spin it up. I have a good feeling about this run. I'm reminding myself to just enjoy the moment. I'm happy with whatever happens," Gonzalez told PokerNews upon reaching the final table.
Gonzalez started well at the 2024 WSOP Main Event final table but busted in sixth-place for $2,000,000. His final hand saw him min-raise to 6,000,000 with pocket jacks, Niklas Astedt three-bet to 18,000,000 before calling Gonzalez's 61,500,000 four-bet shove. Astedt revealed ace-queen, and flopped a queen to end Gonzalez's participation in the record-breaking Main Event.
