PokerStars Open Hits Philadelphia Next Month! Here’s What to Expect

Live poker from PokerStars North America is coming to the US for the first time in 2025 with the PokerStars Philadelphia Open April 21-27 at Live! Casino and Hotel.
The popular card room has played host to multiple PokerStars-branded events the past couple of years, including 2023 Summer Series. Tournament poker action will return to the City of Brotherly love next month for a series of events, most notably the $500,000 guaranteed Main Event (more on this in a bit).
Philly Poker Series Highlights
The action actually begins March 26 on the trio of PokerStars North America platforms. Players in Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey, and Ontario, Canada can begin attempting to qualify for the upcoming Philly live series online via satellites starting at just $10.
"We’re super excited to bring the PokerStars Open to Philadelphia, a city that knows what it means to compete, fight, and never give up," said Steve Preiss, PokerStars' VP of North America. "Poker is about heart, strategy, and knowing when to take your shot, and there’s no better place to showcase that spirit than in Philly.”
The brand-new PokerStars Open live series has no-limit hold'em tournaments ranging from $300 to $2,200. The $1,100 Main Event from April 23-27 is the biggest of them all. But there are other juicy tournaments in the schedule, such as the $2,200 High Roller (April 22-23), the $400 PokerStars Cup with a $40,000 guarantee (April 27), and the $300 Women's Event with $10,000 guaranteed (April 24).
There will also be an intriguing $300 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Bounty on April 24. In this event, those who bust a PokerStars ambassador will receive a special bounty.
PokerStars is bringing exciting tournament action to the region with the launch of the PokerStars Open series, beginning in Philadelphia. Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia is a hot gambling destination and conveniently located literal steps from Citizens Bank Park, home to the MLB's Philadelphia Phillies. Unfortunately, the local ballclub won't be in town during the poker series, but those who arrive on April 20 can get the Phillies in action against the Miami Marlins.
