The PokerStars Festival Manila Begins July 28
The PokerStars Festival is heading to the PokerStars LIVE at City of Dreams Manila for 56 action-packed tournaments from July 28 to Aug. 7.
This will be the second time the poker festival heads to Asia as it takes place just after the PokerStars Festival Korea at Paradise City Hotel & Resort in Incheon, South Korea from July 14-24. This does not mean that PokerStars has yet to hold festivals in its branded poker room as it dozens of events have taken place at the venue since it opened in December 2014.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to cover the two biggest events of the festival, including the PokerStars Festival Manila PHP 55,000 Main Event featuring a huge PHP 20,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and the PokerStars Festival Manila PHP 215,000 High Roller.
The Main Event begins with three opening days on Aug. 3-5 with players beginning with 30,000 chips and blinds increasing every 45 minutes for 12 levels. Players eliminated early will have plenty of chances to get back into the action with each opening flight featuring unlimited re-entries until the end of Level 9.
The structure provides more play on the final two days of the tournament. Blinds increase to 60 minutes on Day 2 on Aug. 6 before they increase to 75 minutes for players advancing to the final day on Aug. 7.
The High Roller takes place just before the Main Event on Aug. 2-3. Players will be able to late register and are allowed unlimited re-entries until the end of Level 12, which is the first level on Day 2.
The action should move quickly with the tournament featuring a 30-second shot clock. Players will still be granted time on more difficult decisions as they will be issued three timebank chips.
