The Mightiest of All: Chris Limo Tops 2,785 to Win $168K in Borgata "Almighty Million"
A week after finishing ninth in the 2015 Borgata Poker Open opening event, which boasted a massive $2 million guarantee, for $23,294, Chris Limo found redemption when he topped a field of 2,785 entrants to win Event #10 $1 million GTD "Almighty Million" for $168,873.
The win was made all the more impressive considering Limo began Day 2, which started with more than 500 players, and managed to stay among the chip leaders all the way to his victory.

According to updates from the event, Limo came on strong with just five players remaining. In Level 37 (600,000/1,200,000/200,000), Limo opened for 2.4 million from the button and Michael Dobbs called from the small blind. Rocco Luciano then three-bet to 10 million from the big, Limo moved all in, and Dobbs got out of the way. Luciano called off and the cards were turned up.
Limo: 7?7?
Luciano: A?K?
It was a flop for nearly 45 million, but Luciano failed to find help as the board ran out a lowly 6?5?5?10?4?.
Immediately after, a preflop raising war saw Joey Couden getting his last 36 million all in holding the A?K? and was racing against the 10?10? of Limo. Again, the pocket pair prevailed after the board ran out Q?3?2?4?J? and Couden was sent packing in fourth place for $60,964.
After Jay Kovoor dispatched Dobbs in third place, Limo took a 2-1 chip lead into heads-up play. Then, in Level 39 (1,000,000/2,000,000/300,000), Limo raised to 5 million, Kovoor three-bet to 15 million, and Limo moved all in. Kovoor paused for a few seconds before calling off.
Kovoor: A?5?
Limo: K?Q?
Kovoor got it in good, and he held strong on both the 6?3?2? flop and 2? turn. All he needed to do to double was dodge a king and queen on the river, but that proved easier said than done as the K? spiked to send him out the door as runner-up for $109,512.
Congratulations to Chris Limo, the 2015 BPO "Almighty Million" champion!
