WCOOP Day 10: Eugene MyRabbiFoo Katchalov Wins 21-Hour Marathon
Day 10 of the 2009 World Championship of Online Poker kicked off with Event 24, a $530 no-limit holdem heads-up tournament. The $1 million guarantee was not surpassed because only 1,564 registered, meaning an overlay of $218,000. However, the real story of the tournament was its length. It began Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on the East Coast and ended about 40 minutes before NFL kickoff Sunday with Eugene MyRabbiFoo Katchalov claiming the top prize. After running for 21 hours, the tournament came to an end when Katchalov defeated JakusKhan.
On the final hand, Katchalov called a raise with K?8? and was happy to see the flop roll out 8?9?K?. He led out with a bet and JakusKhan put in a raise. Katchalov three-bet and JakusKhan was quick to four-bet all-in, immediately getting called by Katchalov. JakusKhan tabled 10?2? for a bluff and did not pull off the miracle bad beat. Eugene MyRabbiFoo Katchalov pocketed $140,000 and the WCOOP bracelet.
